How to Create Your Own Wedding Brand in Five Steps
A wedding brand? I know, it sounds so very corporate and not romantic. BUT, if you look back at some of SMP’s most beloved weddings…a sometimes obvious or sometimes subtle sense of branding is pretty much always happening. Perhaps it’s the family crest that is woven into the details. Or the clean black and white color palette. Maybe it’s an icon or a monogram or theme that helps guide the design in a way that feels cohesive. Bottom line is that a “wedding brand” can pull your look together in a way that makes your wedding feel expensive and chic and downright gorgeous and the FABULOUS trio that is Emily Rose Ink, Amelia Cole Events, The Petal and Roots Life Photography have come together to show us the most beautiful Case Study on gorgeous branding and just how easy it is to tackle on your own.

Idyllic Destination Wedding in Mykonos
From Sandy and Odysseas PhotographyWe had such a great time capturing Christina and David’s wedding in Mykonos. They were so wonderfully tuned with the vibes of the island and their style choices were impeccable. We loved the fact that they were so thoughtful towards their guests and their whole wedding was oriented in pampering their loved ones every way possible, without exaggerating on their church or table decor, just keeping things substantial and meaningful…

Two Serene, Asian Inspired Wedding Shoots

Having been in the wedding world for over eleven years, we have seen many changes. The one we are loving the most is that there is no longer a “right way” to create a wedding. Planning a wedding has evolved to the point that the only limitations are those set by you and your planner/designer! So pick one thing that means the most to you and center your planning around that. It is always a great starting point. This wonderful shoot is one that was the result of a masterclass held in Taiwan that focused on the beauty of a modern Asian aesthetic. With two different couples (and looks) you are able to see how minor changes in a dress, a location, or a table can result in a different look.  Enjoy!

From the photographer:
Asia Masterclass 2018 was hosted in Taiwan, a country located off the coast of China. The class focused on creating a monochromatic, minimalistic design with a dash of wabi sabi element (from Once Wed – We admit we had to look this term up, and we just love the definition: The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is “imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete”). We wanted to showcase a unique take on the weddings in Asia and inspire our workshop attendees with a new approach to fine art weddings in Asia.

Tour the Southern Home of One of the Hottest Interior Design Duos
I recently confessed my love for this home on Instagram, which happens to be one of my all-time favorites from our archives. So, it should come as no surprise that I’m completely obsessed with today’s tour from the same designer duo, Gen and Ben of Pencil & Paper Co.. They can do no wrong. When we spotted their space captured by Leslee Mitchell on One Kings Lane, it was a necessity to spread the design love. Because this home is just KILLER. Let’s begin the tour, shall we?

Backyard Wedding + A Barn Reception – Doesn’t Get Any Better!
Emma and Will were married on July 8th in Norwich, Vermont. The ceremony took place in the picturesque backyard of a family home and was officiated by a long time family friend. The groom’s cousin played guitar and sang during the ceremony – including when Emma and her dad walked down the aisle to Tom Petty’s Wildflowers. Moments after the ceremony ended the skies opened up! And guest scampered to get under umbrellas and on busses to head to The Barn at Happy Hill for the reception. Emma and Will drove off in a mint green ’65 VW bug – complete with beer cans tied to the back bumper and foggy windows from the misting rain. ~from Rodeo & Co. Photography.

OBSESSED with the Pink Wallpaper in this Baby Girl’s Nursery
Did you all tune into the gorgeous results of this year’s One Room Challenge back in May? Not only was I super honored to be involved in the challenge, but I was also seriously wow-ed by all of the beautiful rooms crafted by fellow designers and enthusiasts. Case in point? This uber sweet nursery Megan Bachmann designed for her daughter, Heidi. The star of the show is definitely the whimsical Rebecca Atwood wallpaper (Blooms in Blushing Taupe in case you’re wondering). I’m already scheming on how I can incorporate the pattern into my own home. You know when a nursery design is winning when an adult wants to mimic it! Peruse the photos by Vivian Johnson below, and get the look for your own little one’s sweet space.
